Dear Videogame Executive,
Do you know that you are being managed?
Every time you interact with a team, they are guiding what you look at, who you talk to, what you experience.

Why?
Because you have power over them and they are worried about what you may do.
They are also worried about what OTHER teams are doing and how THAT might influence your opinion of them.
Gamedev is about understanding rules and systems and your teams think they understand the rules of your interactions; DESPITE what you may say

If you already know all this, then why are you telling teams not to put in special work?
I hope it isn't because you are trying to sooth a guilty conscience.
