Videogame Difficulty Settings - Things That Are Harder
Easy, Normal, Hard
On the surface, it seems like difficulty settings are easy, almost trivially so.
Indeed, to do a quick (and poor) implementation it IS very easy
But videogame combat contains more than just damage, so you need to think deeper
Additionally, I think there is a missed opportunity to explore OTHER kinds of difficulty on OTHER kinds of gameplay
Does Difficulty Settings belong in Things That Are Harder? It does if we want to up our game.
I'm not going to go into the details of Balancing a game here (that may be a gamedev video all on its own)
