I started buying games from Steam really late (less than two years ago), which is why my current collection on Valve's platform "only" comprises around 200 titles. I buy a ton of games on the service these days (mostly indie games and digital re-releases of older games), and according to a very rough estimate made using the site SteamCalculator my Steam account would theoretically be worth 2 374 USD. In reality, however, the vast majority of these games were bought during those insane holiday promos which the service has been become known for recently, so the actual amount of money I've spent is considerably less than that. In a lot of cases I own a disc (or diskette) version of the game in question as well, and only bought an extra digital copy because it was so damn cheap (and, more importantly, because I have a philosophical aversion to putting discs into drives).
