DEVS Speak on Update Schedule, Multiplayer Info & Console Keybind - Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
Full Analysis of 1.4.3 Beta Patch (Video) - https://youtu.be/RGNIzzVCAVY
SCRIPT:
Today we are going to talk about devs speaking on Update schedule, multiplayer features, console command and more.
Forum Link - https://bit.ly/2YQdTXh
- First we have a discussion about team damage in casual multiplayer modes and if having no team damage was intentional or a bug.
The devs state that game modes like siege and TDM are casual and the potential for abuse and the frustration that comes with team damage outweighs the realism aspect or any other benefit of having team damage on. Also devs state that in a competitive ranked game, team damage should definitely be on.
A player then responds that maybe they should do team damage in terms of reflective damage, where for example if you shoot someone with an arrow, you get damaged, not the teammate you shot. Also make horses a separate entity since players troll and park horses to block passages.
The devs then respond again and state that they have discussed reflective
damage, but got to the same conclusion as before because of the same
reason of the benefits not outweigh the negatives. Devs state that players can jump in front of you and you would kill yourself by accident. Also devs
state that they think the damage settings are fine for their own servers at
this time and that the real solution would be server files.
Again like i always state, i dont play multiplayer but i see where the devs
are coming from and also where the players are coming from. Its all personal preference and how you like to play.
- Second we have a player asking if the update schedule will be back
to being consistent and if we will see a new patch every week or two since
the code refactor is now done. Also player states that he would rather see
frequent smaller patches than larger less frequent patches.
The devs reply and state that they will not return to daily patches like they
did in the first week of launch, but a normal patching schedule is to be
expected and patches will be more regular now since the code refactor is done.
Good to hear and expected. Cant wait for all the new updates and changes and will make sure to cover all of them!
- Third we have a player making a thread about the console command being
opened by accident alot while playing because it uses very common keys
to open it. The player states this is very annoying and a lot of other players
agree.
The devs reply to this thread and state that they are aware of this and also
that some laptops do not have the tilde key and that those players cannot
open the console at all. Devs state they will probably make this key combo
a rebind feature in the options, but no ETA on this change as of right now.
I personally do not have a problem with the key combo that the console uses, but i can see the problem that could occur and the devs solution makes sense, hopefully this fix comes soon.
- Fourth we have a lot of questions being answered by the devs in terms
of multiplayer, clans and things of that nature. I am going to put it all on
the screen now and will read it. Also the devs stated that all of these are
not final and are subject to change in the future because this dev who posted the answers is not in charge of these changes.
That is all the statements and replies for now and if anything new comes up, i will make a video and keep you guys informed.
Lastly i am going to end this video in the same way i ended most update
and dev talk videos, i want to thank the developers for staying active and
bringing good changes.
