DFFOO [JP][Act 3 Final Ch MD][Alt Run] Kimahri: No need to dodge if the enemies just miss
Haven't played with Kimahri for quite some time and luckily he does not cause lag in this stage for me, so this is probably the perfect place to bring him in. Just a little fun team with Seymour and Kimahri.
For your reference, Kimahri here only has normal HA and no FE.
Just to recap, it is ideal for you to use dodge or ... for them to miss because:
1. Dangerous attacks ignore HP or both BRV/HP mitigation.
2. Their threshold attacks randomly target people
3. Their inflict AOE nasty HP poison debuff during threshold off-turn event
Note that either Raijin LDCA or Gabranth BT would not render their attacks completely harmless, because pass 30% of their FG, they get HP dmg up, and their debuff just drop their HP dmg by a large %. So you would require characters and CA slots to deal with this should you take the route of just eat the attacks. In Raijin's case, the debuff duration would quickly run out when they get SPD up and AD down.
Kimahri's true blind would render them completely harmless. No extra CAs needed, and he can get his EX back within 2 turns with his LD and HP+, should the need to reapply arises. So this opens up the enchant CA slots for using Enna Kros FR here. It also means Seymour can blast away without having to worry about the HP poison debuffs getting in the way during BT phase. The debuff event is not really an attack, so it would happen during BT/summon phase still.
Seymour, Enna Kros and short term Selphie friend would push enemies away. Seymour LD/BT can also dispel the speed/AD buffs, so we can comfortably let true blind stays on. Therefore Seymour + Kimahri are actually quite fail-safe, even if he does not go into BT phase.
Kimahri also provided pretty decent support alongside Seymour BT for the party to deal dmg. Do remember that this stage has a 80% + 50% from FG BRV dmg reduction, and normal imperil would not let you hit weakness. So he is actually doing quite well. When I tried a comp with the aim of Enna Kros setting off various threshold at once for Galuf and Minwu to counter the boss to death, it worked but the dmg was not nearly as good as this one.
Obviously he is not mandatory and there are plentiful of ways you can use direct dmg comps for this stage. Though I would say his presence simplifies a lot of things for this stage and you don't have to manage different stages of the fight separately. The fact that I don't need to bring in an actual enchanter occupying a character slot without the benefit of the usual weakness BRV dmg bonus for Enna's FR is a huge plus for me already.
Not anything ground breaking, so a team that work quite efficiently and clean I guess?
