DFFOO [JP] Chaos has consumed 999,999 BRV without synergy
The whole purpose of -999,999 BRV is almost solely for the pleasure of the disciples of Chaos and the added HP dump component to hit the cap of 299,999 (shame, no 300000). Jack does not even need all that much to make his final follow-up attack hit the hard cap of 999,999. So in general practice you don't have to go this hard with his mBRV, but it is fun to see that it is possible even without synergy.
For your reference the things used here, other than the three main characters are:
Ashe CA (party-wide +40% mBRV)
Generic mBRV buff that you can apply with either Sazh CA
Wakka CA on Jack (+80% mBRV)
Jack here only has UW+2 and "not perfect but would suffice" arts.
He has 3 +10mBRV spheres.
The general idea is to let Jack enter BT first for maximum buffs (remember the -mBRV are calculated with snapshotting). At the last turn of Brothers summon phase, let Jack break the enemy with FR, so he would do the follow-up and ensure a full 600% -mBRV on a target for FULL break duration. This should last even a few more turns after Jack has come back in the turn order for a BT phase.
Before he does, spam your highest HP dump moves on the other two characters to enjoy those extra 299,999s. Jack himself would also get the benefits for a few turns when you start his BT phase. The last hit would be significantly more dmging. In this run I miscalculated at the beginning of summon phase and let Cor moved once more to compensate, so Ashe's CA dropped off before Jack came back.
Drawback of playing like this:
1. You need precise control of when they unbreak, so that they stay -999,999 for as long as possible. Also, buff slot management is paramount.
2. You have to occupy the summon phase with other characters
3. Jack would have 1 less BT turn at the end because the FR is activated after BT, the pains of 6 turn BT (looking at Raines BT)
Alternatives:
1. You can let Cor put on the Oath buff and swap him out for another mBRV/BT/another Jack. That way you lose 40% of mBRV buff, but you may be able to compensate for it with others.
If you are using another Jack, then he can be the one to use the FR instead, and you can have -999,999 for the full 6 BT turns of your Jack. (Can't do it here because my Ramza has no Force Enhancement and I had to use Selphie by swapping out Jack to avoid Sazh's mBRV from being overwritten XD)
2. Similar to swapping out Cor, you can use Aphmau instead. Aphmau's optimization (fittingly so) also gives tons of mBRV and you can leave it on Jack and swap her for another character. Using Aphmau has the added benefit of more convenient turn manipulation and boosting Jack's EX charge speed, since Lightbringer is only 2 turns and his initial sprint to the first EX is a bit slow.
3. You can FR early and let a high HP dump character take over the BT phase.
4. Forget about BT phase, just use off-turn dmg/counter and stretch out Jack's BT turns instead lol.
Unfortunately, at least imo, there are not many other FR users that have suitable conditions for Jack while buffing mBRV at the same time. Cor obviously is there, but since the other two characters don't have much off-turn, at its current state the resultant % may not be ideal. Unless you force sets of 3 Cor's preemptive strikes like this run for a few turns first.
Atm, thinking about if Ace would be good for Jack as well, since his BT has party mBRV and he follow-ups on every turn. Though I am not sure I want to take 2 people without FE lol.
