DFFOO [JP][Autumn Campaign MD pt2] Just want to use Prishe for a bit.
Autmun Campaign mission dungeon part 2:
This mission dungeon revolves around Blue + Green crystal characters.
Chaos | Queen LC - (a) Necro Raven + (b) Strong Beast x2 | 1B2G
Lufenia | Kain BT Shinryu (Act 3 Ch8 pt1)- Floating Eye x2 | 2B1G
Shinryu | Garnet BT Shinryu - Bahamut + Crystal x2 | 1B2G
As predicted, this time the Shinryu stage is more recent. It is the first raid in the FR echo era from around 3 months ago. That being said, FR echo is still not needed at all (I used once here but there were a lot of FT turns left anyway).
There are 3 targets in this stage, so it heavily favours some particular unts. Counters, trap-oriented characters, AOE specialised units like Lann and Reynn (crystal colour is not right, but you can still use them as friends) or someone like Garnet with field turn mechanics would do well here.
Rubicante was not even a thing at that time. So it is actually kind of funny watching how it unfolds with him in this stage.
I originally cleared with Ace in the 3rd slot, but since Rubi + Cor is way too powerful and would kill most of the adds within one or two enemy actions anyway, his contribution was not really that big after the half way point. Therefore I pull Prishe out of storage for a bit of old unit fun and direct ST dmg instead.
A Pity. Prishe did not get to finish the boss because Cor + Rubicante were in a frenzy near the end. She also shares the same UW with Rubi, otherwise we may be looking at some 30m+ LD action.
The fight is largely the same. I don't intend to repeat too much. There are crystal colour requirements in place, so you can only use a subset of units + friend. The hint button is not there this time and it was not permanent content, so here are the highlighted keypoints. If you forgot what the details were, you can always look at the old Garnet BT Bahamut Raid video.
Keypoints:
1. Both bahamut and crystals have BRV floor after 30% FG, meaning that you would not be able to break them.
2. They mainly get BRV through BRV gain.
3. Crystals are always resummoned immediately after being destroyed.
At 70/50/30%: Bahamut would use Megaflare++ and push you off by 2T.
At 40/10%: Bahamut would force the crystals to use self-destruct.
- If the crystals are above 50% HP, Self-destruct+ would massively BRV gain to around 100K before exploding (each) and dealing AOE HP dmg.
Several strat may be handy here:
1. GigaChad WoL Shield
Without HP dmg mitigation, self-destruct+ deals around 33K+ HP dmg onto each party members. Therefore, as long as you have a shield with a value higher than that, you can completely ignore self-destruct+ without controlling your dmg output. You may need some BRV dmg mitigation to reduce the consumption of your shield though.
Here I have Cor's Oath, Rubicante's aura + C88 and Reks LDCA to reduce all kinds of dmg besides the shield.
Tbf, with this kind of mitigation, it does not even hurt without the shield.
I actually thought about taking Gabranth for full turtle play as well.
2. BRV freeze, or BRV gain tax
Something like Kadaj CA/Cater LDCA and freeze or prevent that massive BRV gain from hapepning. Though it may be hard to keep the debuffs on the adds as they die rather easily later.
Note that it is an odd-turn attack, so something like Maria LD Trap would not suck the BRV away before self-destruct happens.
3. ST dmg with controlled AOE dmg output
Straight to the point, just ST snipe Bahamut while keeping the add crystals at lower than 50%. Cid Raines (Green Crystal) should be able to make short work of the boss.
In general if you don't have a reliable safety strategy, be extra mindful of applying off-turn dmg as it spirals out of control very quickly when the FR% is really high.
Judging by part 2's setting, the next one should be Black + White crystals without repeating BGRY. It should be safe to use the stronger units if you wish to complete the Shinryu stage without worrying about the lockouts.
I have got an itch for getting Vivi or Seymour out already.
Though FEODT 15, the penultimate one is coming out tmr. That should be the real focus.
