DFFOO [JP] Death awaits you only because this girl refuses to let us die
With Rem, every one can become an unsent, lingering in the mortal world inflicting pain and suffering. This is probably Seymour's favourite activity: delivering living beings to the farplane.
Just playing around with Rem's newfound ability to stop all people from dying to HP dmg, with a little bit of intensive Rem - Raines turn manipulating shenanigans and EX recharging.
Honestly, the ability to direct and shuffle people around during FT is really helpful, especially when you try to keep a particular member out of the action until the time comes. It is also easier to not mess up when it comes to FT turn count and FR echo usages.
The run is kinda long due to the long setup/launches/summon phase lag. It is really an overkill. So here are the timestamps for you to get to the point.
00:00 QS
08:00 Raines FR
13:00 Being bullied
14:05 Seymour BT
Warning!
This is just a team building run, testing Rem's capabilities. The goal is to NOT achieve perfect and overwrite my clear lockouts. With Seymour being a white crystal character, it does not fulfil the white crystal requirement. Do NOT use this team to perfect the stage.
Rem:
1. Death prevention
Unlike party last stand, there is no "above 50% HP" requirement to keep yourself alive when you receive a normally fatal blow. You can take however many blows to the face and still live. Essentially you can live like Ardyn does, but you do not actively lower your HP to 0 when it starts.
Also unlike Ardyn or Galuf's effect coming from buffs, Rem's effect comes from her BT. Unless there is a way in the future that bosses can cancel special effects, you are pretty much unable to die until Rem's effect is off.
When the quest is over, Rem's BT automatically dispel and heal you back up. It may not heal back to full, but usually it is sufficient for you to ignore the HP requirement.
Unfortunately, this effect only protects you from deaths due to HP attack. You would still die to special one hit kills like Lufenia orbs going off.
2. EX recharge and turn manipulation
Rem gives all party members full EX recharge every time she moves. Do note though using her BT+ does not immediately grants them a charge. You must first let her move once afterwards.
Besides her S2, her FR is also capable of pulling others to the front. When you pull someone that also has turn manipulation skills, you have a lot of control over how you wish to proceed with your FT.
It is also due to this property that Seymour gets to start BT at 700+% due to letting Raines, who gives more bonus% to his FR, get more turns than usual.
(In fact too much additional dmg was dealt to Bahamut that he delayed me one more time than I anticipated that led to Quina's debuff expiring, which was slightly unfortunate to Seymour's split dmg LD follow-up)
Optimisation:
The low mBRV and split dmg from both Rem and Seymour LD requires some optimisation to work well. Here are some examples aside from the BT auras:
HP dmg taken up debuff: Seymour/Reks/Quina
HP dmg up/overflow: Reks LDCA
mBRV/overflow: Cor
Little findings:
Due to the fact that the crystals die REALLY easily, buff based support is just more consistent comparatively.
1. Reks LDCA is surprisingly potent at helping out with Seymour's split LD follow-up dmg. I could see obvious drop when the CA expired in previous tests.
2. It actually took me some time to find Cor as a suitable buff based
LDCA. Since I wanted to let Raines move as much as possible for more FR%, after I mapped out that he could move 3 times after activating FR, it rendered most of the LDCA not very helpful to Seymour's BT phase due to most of them having a duration of 3T only.
3. Seymour's BT sequence
The LD/EX/FR are mostly fluid in the sequence depending on what you want to achieve (if there is a free skill already such that EX does not need to be used early. This is attained because of Rem BT in this run). Currently without echo, FR has the highest collateral AOE dmg while EX has the highest ST DPS for sniping a target. The situation here is more complicated, because the crystal dies so frequently that Seymour's LD debuff would just fall off constantly during the last few FT turns. I think LD - EX - FR may actually be a bit better here as his FR generally can reach max AOE dmg on its own. LD laying down the debuff for EX may actually be more suitable in this case.
At least the 400m+ on Bahamut is still incredibly satisfying.
