Hey players, DJay here with a new arcade shmup longplay on one of the few arcade hits of the early 90's, Aero Fighters/Sonic Wings. Only 1 loop was completed.

Description of the game:

Aero fighters (Sonic Wings in some regions) is a bulletstorm shmup by Video System Co. released in arcades in early 1992. It received only 1 home port on the SNES in June 1993 in Japan and September 1993 in the US. It was later released on PlayStation 2 exclusively in Japan in the Oretachi Gēsen Zoku series. It is a spiritual successor Video System Co.'s 1991 shooter, Turbo Force, even as far as to feature a cameo of its arcade cabinet in Kowful and Tee-Bee's ending. A secret character, Rabid from Rabbit Puncher, appears here in the SNES version of the game via cheat codes.

A mysterious alien force is seeking for domination over the world and it's up to 8 different pilots from 4 different countries to fly their very own "Aero Fighter" into the battlefield and destroy them before it's too late.

Players choose between 8 playable fighters (half are assigned to Player 1 and the other half assigned to Player 2), each with a unique weapon and bomb. After doing so, they will have to overcome 7 difficult stages (depending on which pilot you pick, they will not access the stages in which their country of origin is) with enemies becoming more aggressive as the player progresses. Destroying some big enemies (or medium sized ones) will yield power-ups for your main weapon (up to 4 levels, but the maximum upgrade will last temporarily for 10 seconds before downgrading to the previous level) and bombs, which have a devastating effect (some players have invulnerability from bullets). After completing all 7 of the game's stages, the player will face the second loop with harder attack patterns. Being hit by projectiles or colliding with aerial enemies destroys your ship and reduces your firepower to the weakest level, but also gives a power-up to pick up. Dying on your last life rewards one power-up upgrade, a bomb and a maximum power upgrade.

Pick one of your suited fighters and save the world from an impending doom.
