DJay 95 Plays: Battle Circuit (Arcade) Longplay
Hey players, DJay here with a new longplay on an arcade exclusive beat em up, Battle Circuit.
Description of the game:
Battle Circuit is a sci-fi beat em up by Capcom released exclusively in arcades in March 1997 on the CPS-II system board. It did not receive any home ports, but was included in a compilation of Capcom Beat Em Up Bundle in 2018 on PS4, XBOX ONE, Microsoft Windows and Nintendo Switch, alongside other Capcom beat em ups. It was Capcom's final beat em up for the arcades. During development and by depiction of the game's artwork, it was originally planned to be a racing game allowing up to 8 players, but was later rejected and changed to a beat em up. Cyber Blue later appears in Project X Zone 2 as part of Captain Commando's special multiple assault, even sharing a nearly similar resemblance. Yellow Iris (Yellow Beast in Japan) appears as a costume for Felicia in Marvel VS Capcom 3 and cameos in Capcom Fighting Evolution.
In the future year of 20XX, a city known as Neo Koba was overrun by criminals, but under protection of 5 bounty hunters. Their target is a scientist named Doctor Saturn, an evil genius who seeks to obtain the powerful Shiva disk, a device that contains a malicious computer with the ability to control every computerized systems throughout the world. As such, the 5 bounty hunters must take down various members of the Delete gang and obtain the disk before it falls into the wrong hands.
The game plays similar to other beat em ups, but with a few unique features that make it stand out. Players choose between 5 bounty hunters and make it across 8 stages. (The eighth and final stage is only accessible by scoring at least 3.2 million points or more and buying 6 upgrades or having 1000 coins in possession.) Aside from beating down enemies until their health is depleted, players make use of several movesets, some of their attacks can be upgraded to make them more powerful once they are bought with enough coins. Another unique feature is the Battle Download Data, obtained either in some stages or bought for 200 coins, which have different effects on player characters' attributes for a limited period (Alien Green is the only one who can fully restore other players health). The money maker item can turn every enemy on-screen into coins regardless of health. Food restores some or a big amount of vitality, which can increase chances of survival. They can be obtained by destroying crates or damaging a UFO which appears after scoring every 250000 points. The Mega crash attack can be performed by pressing both the attack and jump buttons simultaneously, but at the cost of their health being depleted. Vitality is depleted by taking damage from enemy attacks and once it reaches zero, the player is defeated.
Take down the Delete gang and race for the Shiva System disk, before they get their hands on it.
