Hey players, DJay here with a new arcade shmup longplay on one of Capcom's bulletstorm arcade hits of the mid-90's, 19XX.

Description of the game:

19XX: The War Against Destiny is a vertical scrolling bulletstorm shmup by Capcom released in arcades in December 1995 and the fourth entry in the 194X series, being the first one of the series to run on Capcom's CPS-II system board. No home ports were released, but the game was included in Capcom Arcade Stadium in February 2021 in pack 3. The game contains arranged songs from the original game, 1942. This is the second appearance of de Havilland Mosquito, after its debut in 1941: Counter Attack. This is the only game to not feature the series' traditional wingmen.

The story transitions from the setting of World War II to a war of modern times, hence why the title includes a non-specific date. A terrorist organization known as Outer Limits have being instigating several conflicts in many parts of the world with at least one ambition in mind: domination over the planet with the use of a powerful nuclear weapon. Learning from all of this, the WPA (World Peacekeeping Agency), sends out 2 of their ace pilots, Mark Raratto (Player 1) and George Hamill (Player 2), to get Outer Limits of the picture. And worse, they must even face Mark's elder brother in combat upon learning he joined forces with them as their top enforcer. The only question is: "Can they stop Outer Limits from fulfilling their destiny?"

The gameplay system is much like the other installments in the series, but with a few new featues. The fuel system that has being present in several other installments is completely removed, meaning that 1 hit, whether touching any aerial enemies or getting shot, is enough to destroy the ship. Players take control of one of the 2 pilots and choose between 3 different planes, the Lockheed P-38 Lightning (Balanced fighter with moderate speed and firepower, but with a high damaging homing attack), the de Havilland Mosquito (high firepower, but low speed and weak homing attacks) and the Kyushu J7W Shinden (High maneuverability, but weak firepower and moderate homing attacks). They will then take on 7 different stages, shooting down enemy targets that appear. The charged attacks have been reworked for the missile marker system, which after the player holds and releases the shot button, will fire a powerful shot against strong enemies and upon repeatedly tapping the shot button, will fire multiple homing missiles, destroying or damaging enemies that appear in their way too. The bomber system has also been reworked by adding charge levels. The longer the player holds, the stronger the bomber, the strongest is at level 3. Upon charging or activation, it will emanate bullets, but players must still dodge while charging. Destroying a formation of red enemies will drop power-ups including 3 different types of weapons and bombers. Medals are obtained by destroying formations with at least 1 red plane in each. After clearing the stage, your performance will be displayed such as the time taken to destroy the boss, medals collected and the enemy destruction rate. The faster you clear each boss battle, the higher the rank and the better the score.

Another battle for world peace begins here...
