DMC4 - Shuffle redirect pt.2
Here's the deal, Nero generally can't redirect his Shuffle, be it normally executed or reversed (or any angle). Flicking the left-stick won't help.
But with lock-on, he can. Apparently lock-on has a priority over Shuffle's targeting. By changing target before the dodge half ends, the slash half of the move chases after the new target... but with a condition.
And the condition is that new target must be within a certain angle from where Shuffle is executed. Basically after the dodge, if the new target is within a certain angle from where Nero is facing, then Nero will attack said new target.
The use of this little trick? Not much. I tried to extend Shuffle's distance by widening the angle between the dodge and the slash, but it doesn't seem to add much to it, if any. Styling maybe?
In the video,
- some demonstration with "reversed" Shuffle. Have discussed this in pt.1
- redirecting Shuffle by changing target, a demonstration.
- and the last part is to show that this trick works only within a certain angle, but how much, I haven't pin-pointed it out. Maybe in pt.3 if I'm ever bothered.
But for now, to the archive.
