Dogs Of War (Amiga) - A Playguide and Review - By LemonAmiga.com
Another lesser known combat game, this time with guns! Dogs Of War was made by the team behind James Pond and Robocod, so it should be good. Yes, ITS MANIC! Yet as the Amiga games competition players found out last year, its also gruelling after a few hours of play, and despite ever-changing level scenery eventually becomes repetitive. I go crazy by the end of this review!
Note: Even though I am aware the single-player character is supposed to be copy of Stallone, I cannot do a Stallone impression (let alone and Arnie one!), so sorry for any confusion.

Rather than skip parts out of a video, I much rather prefer to speed things up; like a Fast Forward feature. This shows all the bits I missed plus it show the viewer I wasnt cheating. Sometimes, like in the Beach Volley review, I skip the boring bits and get back to the action, but here its all action, so I decided to use as much footage as possible and speed it up, but running the risk of the whole review becoming over-long and boring. To compromise, I clipped down the highlights and added them on as extra scenes for the last 10mins of the review. What was a one-line impersonation of Arnie went crazy and I ended up doing the whole 'best of' clips in an Arnie voice. If you like it I'm sure you'll agree its just what this review needed, and less of the level playguide stuff. At least its a nice long video for a change, like a double episode.
The editing took much longer than expected mainly due to the fact that I could not get the footage sharp enough and colourful enough, and at the size I wanted. I have all the footage too large in the early edits and so I have to manually change all the clips sizes and colours until I was happy with the result. All the arrows there then out of alignment when the video size was changed, so those were tweaked too. The narration was done in two takes as the first take ended at 11pm at night, so the next day I did the crazy ending. I think there were a few bits in there that didn't quite work and so I took those out or added a few small re-dubs in certain place where I was talking pure rubbish. A few extra captions were added a week later and the green alien from Alien Fish Finger was added as a protest against no end-of-level bosses. I only cover four levels but that was enough given the length of the final review.
