The Spy Who Loved Me (Amiga) - A Playguide and Review - by LemonAmiga.com
Re-upped. Ah, The Spy Who Loved Me - one of those games I remember fondly as a kid and knowing all the tricks, but now feels a bit dated and awkward in several places. This is the first time I've had to reply on using Savestates since the North and East courses of Buggy Boy way back in 2012. This game is very rarely reviewed, and a lot of effort went into this video. Please share it and enjoy.
PRODUCTION NOTES:
Video Captured: 29. June.13 (main), and 19. Sept.13 (final levels)

Version: 8, Rev: 5
This video was one of those nightmares which never seemed to end*. You can see it says Version 8 above, and this is because the video took as long to make as TD1/TD2!. I don't like using Savestates, but coming back to this cold I found it was too difficult to complete the whole thing in one go, even though I used to be able to do that when I was good with the game back in the 90's. Spent endless time trying get the screen size a good compromise. I added several arrows and captions; which all went out of alignment as soon as I made any fades or edits!
Spent one whole day cutting shapes from a screenshot of the inside of the truck so that I could get James in the car and all 4 wheels on the Lotus. Spent at least 7 hours on this one effect (which only lasts for 2 or 3 seconds on screen). Then I discovered some of the later footage had a mouse pointer stuck in the middle of the screen, so the jet bike section and ending had to be ripped all over again. Played around adding box-outs and slow motion bits for the final battle. I also added a few anecdotal screen captions with every major revision to remind me of my progress; but by the end of the manufacturing process the thing had so many captions it was quite hard to keep track of everything. And I didn't even get time to make a comparison zone! Basically the final edits on this were completed 14 days ago, and then last week was dedicated to making the No Second Prize video review ready for release next weekend.
* edit: Even on the day of launch, bugs meant I had to render it again. This was viewed by 189 people before I re-upped the video.
