Hello. Next PC Zone lvl finalist map in turn is from David Harvey with a map called ' Temple '.
It's simple, rather quick and on the easy side.
• Visually simple with a lot of straight lines to form the rooms and with not that much detailing going on in most places. Scaling is also going in places a little. Also texturing can be a bit off in places, which end up doing angles instead of straight lines. (Harder to pull off neatly in the distant past)
• Difficulty is easy: Few traps around, but those aren't hard to deal with. Majority of the hits will come from hitscanners present in the map.
• Health & Armor balance is in a decent spot, as you don't get a ton of both, but it normally ends up being plenty, because you shouldn't be facing a strong opposition overall.
• Ammo balance is not bad either. Mostly shells, but you get occasional ammo for bullets and later several rockets towards the end.
Secrets rather hang between good and bad:
On the other hand, there's a bit of variety to them, occasionally giving you a clue of their existence, but also the actual entrance sometimes has no clue given at all.
Also, one of the secrets can be missed, if you're not aware of a fake wall by a barrel.
Furthermore there are 2 unmarked secrets on this map.
Other than those, there aren't really serious problems in this level, which is a good thing, of course.
It could've been improved to be more interesting and to make more sense visually, but it works quite well from start to finish.
(As a side note, Broken Sword -playthrough should be coming up after tonight, if nothing goes wrong! So, most likely that'll be the next upload.)
