Hello. Yet another PC Zone lvl finalist map, called Grayday by Paulo Caixinha. Quite a basic, medium-sized level, which can cause grey hairs for completionists.
NOTE: No way to get 100% kills without 'Idclip'!
• Visually, not much to look at here. We often have quite large rooms with little detail to break the monotonous nature of them. Lighting doesn't improve it much either.
• Difficulty is easy. Almost 400 monsters, but 2% of them are mid-tier or higher, and also 2% are zombiemen. Rest of them are remaining monster types of Doom 1.
• Ammo balance is very plentiful. Especially, if you utilize chainsaw + Berserk a lot, which you can totally do on this one. So many demons to deal!
• And also lots of health and plenty armor given throughout the map
And then some bad stuff:
• So, one rather huge flaw is the missing monsters. How many from 380 of them? A staggering 93 of them!
There are 2 big, secluded rooms with monsters for teleporting into the 1st huge room, once you trigger the lines by 2/3 keys (those lower tele for monsters to step in), but there's no way to alert any of those monsters, so they just wait, and wait... and wait!
The sectors are joined as well, so a sound in one room awakes both rooms up.
• Another big flaw is the usual issue, player getting stuck somewhere:
Lowering teleport at Yellow Key, going through it and entering any of the remaining, other teleports rather than the one you just came through. Those other teleports aren't lowered and you'll get stuck at the end destination. (In other words, go Western teleport!)
Teleing into Cyb-room, when monsters roam outside of it can become an issue, if you slip past to outside and drop to space between key doors without required keys to open them.
Poison channel doesn't deal damage (I don't mind, but there's a radiation suit in the level, for what purpose exactly?) You get stuck there, if you haven't opened teleport at the end of it.
The other poison pool has no way to exit from it.
• Few unmarked secrets, while having double-triggering secrets as well. Secret counter would be at 3, before adding unmarked ones, which would then go up to 7 or 8.
