Inspired by the Reading Gamebow group's Team Reading, I am playing Doom 64 bonus maps on ultra hard settings. What is ultra hard you may ask? Further inspired by Decino's Doom 64 play through, it is "Watch Me Die" difficulty with pistol starts, fast monsters, and no mid-level loading. This level known as "Wretched Vats" has some of the best sky architecture in its opening area for a game. Just something with rusted steel bars under a blood red turbulent sky that speaks to me. It's weird, the part of this level for me was a pinky that kept taking my health down. For some reason I wasn't able to chainsaw it. It's also kind of embarrassing that I mis-timed the spike trap so badly as well haha. But these bonus maps are fantastic additions to Doom 64. Onto "Thy Glory"!
