Compared to Hell on Earth and Super Gore Nest, Detroit actually isn't looking too shabby here.
That said, this stage is extremely straightforward. It's essentially a gauntlet of arena battles as we make our way to the Icon of Sin. One of them causes some trouble and takes most of our lives. By the time we reach the Icon, we're left with two... and they don't last too terribly long.
On the plus side, that means I actually have to learn the fight instead of powering through it with lives. It actually made winning the battle feel earned, which was extremely gratifying.
That said, in the second phase.. the first time playing it, it was full of Barons and Revenants. The second and successful try was Pinkies and Cacodemons.. which was honestly quite the step down. I mean, it did feel gratifying to win.. but after thinking back on it after calming down, it almost felt like the game went easy on me there.
Regardless, we plant our Crucible in the Icon's brain and break off the hilt. From there, it's actually kind of a 'meh' ending with some narration as we walk towards the camera.. cut to title and then credits.
As such, the game proper is now complete.. but since there was a point of no return, we have some clean up to do. Then I also plan to run around the fortress and show the collectibles.. as well as the Codex entries, which I'm not sure yet how to handle.
