In the time I've been following some mods I forget that time's moved on and that mods have been developed further but I still like to go over betas or older releases to see how far a mod has come.
Authored by Batandy, This public beta of The Crimson Deed was released on September 30th 2018. A narrative driven first person mod, We control a vampire named Vesper who has awakened after a long deep sleep, the world we knew is no longer and exploring, a world that was once a empire is long forgotten, what lies beyond? We have to find out.
I'll preface by stating that The Crimson Deed lagged my system some, dropping my FPS to about 25 to 30 as the detail of the maps are just incredible and the visual effects also add to the mod's flavor. Our melee weapon is a crude knife which has a windup, it can be tough to figure out where to go as you'll be needing to think outside the box to progress through tricky areas, I never got far in the mod but its still a very impressive showcase of how Doom can evolve into something else with a modder's intrigue.
