On the subject of Megawads, I've seen many across these years of playing Doom, and one thing thats seemed to become less common are Ultimate Doom megawads but to be fair, Doom II has a lot of support with its expanded enemies, but I can always count on authors to give the original Doom the love it needs.
Released on June 17th 2015, Endless Torture is a 4 episode 36 map megawad by Maxime Bisiaux, who, you may know better as Datacore who has worked with other French authors on the 3 Heures D'Agonie series, and other intense wads. So, going in, you'll know its going to be a tough wad with additional help credited to FranckFRAG, J.C. Dorne, and William Huber.
Endless Torture is a unique case where Datacore doesn't lay on the heavy fire early but as you progress into the mid parts, That burning sensation of ammo puzzles, downright shady ambushes and nerve wracking sequences will remind you that Datacore knows well how to surprise you.
[[Will confess, I didn't think this megawad was worth playing at first as my first ultra violence run was a disaster prior to video. In addition it was replaced by the first of the 3 Heures D'Agonie megawads, This isn't to say Datacore isn't talented, In my process of deciding on a season, it can be just me being simple and deciding on one file vs another]]
