Doom Wads/Mods The Rejected #44:KMega1.Wad
https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/j-l/kmega1 Compilation wads aren't something I've tackled often on the series, though as you've seen with Monument in this special, That's changing. Kurt Kesler should need no introduction as they were among the first to take advantage of source port quirks for their wads.
A compilation of 18 previously released wads which were his first, Kmega1.Wad was released on November 13th 2004. These 18 maps have Zdoom enhancements and various scripting to showcase Kurt's adaptation of what made source ports that much more powerful vs Vanilla Doom, It also contains a lot of Kurt's signature which is lowering wall ambushes that scorched me more then a few times during filming here.
Kmega1 has a lot of different map styles to its name with intricate pieces and various traps that you'll never expect, And whats more commendable is Kurt's ammo and health placement which never feels cheap or placed awkwardly, Exactly what makes this compilation great. Last two maps will be a test of your footwork.
[[This one is a Season 3 reject, It was during this time I saw that Zdoom wasn't cutting it as I went along, GZDoom was a much better option but Windows XP couldn't run it so thats where my enjoyment of laptops came along. Kmega1 is a hidden gem, I'd, personally recommend to all Doom players to try once]]
