Doom Wads/Mods The Rejected #37:Sillouhettes Of Phobos
https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom/s-u/sophobos Losing my mind going back in time, to 1995. A year after Doom II came out, mapping was picking up with solo effort showcasing new talent while the teams concept which had made a bunch of wads in 1994 began to slow down, This wad here comes from the cancelled hidden gems special I had a idea for.
Authored by Michael Lundy, This 4 level wad was released in 1995 with a Doomworld Mirror noting a updated release of July 22nd 1996. The mapset is your typical techbase with a bunch of different themes and some unusual decisions with a Cyberdemon(!) being present in the first map alone so you know, Michael's mapping is far different then a typical Ultimate Doom wad.
Ammo placement is modest and the maps themselves fall between the IWADS and 2002 A Doom Odyssey's difficulty without being too restrictive or difficult, And with a lot of different combat pieces, it stands out among other 1995 wads in addition to being one of the better ones from that time.
[[Another reject from Season 2, This one stands out as the first time I actually that I was going to film the original file for the episode but decided to do it later, Thats not to say it wasn't good, it was a turn of the moment thing. That happens less then it did back in 2019 when the series was new but it still defines my decision making]]
