We are currently in Chapter 1: Cantlin. Previously, Davilas acquired the Red Teleportal, which leads to the Damdara Desert, the location of Hauksness. Davilas learned how to make the Brick Barbecue and cooked up a Bunny Burger for Pippa. Yummy.

After resuming, Davilas speaks with Rollo (time 0:43). Rollo believes the descendant of the legendary blacksmith has been imprisoned in the lands beyond the Red Teleportal. He assigns Davilas to find and rescue this individual. If Davilas speaks to Rollo again, Rollo will issue some excellent advice.

Davilas goes through the Red Teleportal to Damdara Desert (time 2:29). His destination is the ruins of a town northwest of the teleportal. Most likely Hauksness.

After breaking up 3,000 objects in the course of the game, the player earns the trophy "Super Smasher" (time 3:57). Unfortunately, the trophy popped as I was doing some scouting off-camera.

In the center of the town ruins, Davilas runs into someone he thinks is a friendly face (time 4:58). Unfortunately, it is not who he thinks! After the conversation, Davilas must fight a Knight Aberrant. Look out for its destructive axe swings, which can knock down even Stone Blocks. Learn how to fight it now, as Knights Aberrant will soon lead assaults against the base itself.

After defeating the Knight Aberrant, Davilas acquires a Key (time 6:36). With this equipped on the item bar, Davilas can open the door in the town ruins and rescue the man confined within. The man is Magnus, descendant of Magog. He gladly joins Davilas and will accompany him back to Cantlin. Magnus will participate in battles along the way.

They take the teleportal to Cantlin (time 9:02). Magnus moves into town. When Davilas talks to him, Magnus teaches him how to make iron gear: Iron Broadsword, Sledgehammer, Iron Armour, and Iron Shield. All excellent, but the Sledgehammer will be required in short order. Magnus will also tell a horror story about the Pyramid. Guess where we'll have to go soon.

Davilas reports to Rollo (time 12:05). Rollo rewards Davilas with a Seed of Life and some good advice. Quest complete!

The next quest will be from Rollo, but cooking up the iron gear beforehand is a good idea. So, Davilas smelts some Iron Ingots at the Forge. Then, he cooks up Sledgehammers, an Iron Sword, Iron Armour, and an Iron Shield. Davilas also makes a Shovel at the Mason's Workstation.

When Davilas rests, he gets another flashback (time 16:35). I believe this flashback is available after getting the Red Teleportal. We seem to be seeing these flashbacks from the perspective of Dragon Quest (I)'s protagonist.

Davilas goes outside of town and begins digging up some plants rather than slashing or smashing them.

Davilas then takes the Blue Teleportal to Hammerhood Heights (time 21:17). The Shovel can dig up a few things here, too.

When he is done playing in the dirt, he warps back to the Cantlin base (time 29:33). Next time, he will take on Rollo's next quest, which will lead him back to Damdara.
