Dragon's Lair (Nes) Playthrough / The Adventures of Dirk the Glass Knight. Nevermore......
Dragon's Lair (1990) by Motivetime is a is a fantasy platform game based on one of the first games fully based on so-called Quick Time Events, which came out for arcade machines in 1983. It was a short film of sorts, with which we could interact by making certain choices that would lead Dirk the knight to his beloved princess Daphne, who was kidnapped by an evil dragon. The Nes game, on the other hand, due to hardware limitations, was converted to the genre that the Nes actually handled best, namely platform games. Only it's not an ordinary platformer oh no hehe...... it's a brutal experience that was designed to simulate, at least in concept, the “Quick Time Event” experience only that it was cranked up to the limit of reason. It's been a long time since I've been so frustrated by any game. In short, the game is one big science of trial and error. We die literally every few seconds discovering new traps and enemies who, despite the fact that we have a life bar, kill us in one hit. And so it goes round and round, you die, go back to the beginning, get a little further, die again and from the beginning once again. It is literally a badly designed relay of pain that just sucks in every way. It doesn't help here that Dirk's movements are very laggy and his animations are really long, making it necessary to always take some adjustments to everything. The graphics are crappy, the music is monotonous, the level design is fucked up and the game itself is zero fun. If you want to punish yourself then please go ahead and play dragon's lair and I guarantee you will feel like a miserable piece of shit . One of the worst games I've ever played, I don't recommend it to anyone, even as a shelf exhibit, because this crap has its place where all crap lands...... in the sewage. Avoid it.
