Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom (Arcade) CO-OP Playthrough / Action D&D at its finest.
Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom (1994) by Capcom is the first part of a very successful fantasy beat'em up released only on arcade machines at the time. We started the series in truth from the ass side....... because we first finished the second part with the subtitle “Shadow over Mystara” from 1996. Personally, we think that the first part was actually better because it doesn't drag on as long as the sequel. Which was the biggest downside of the game for us. Here everything is well balanced, and in principle offers practically everything the sequel...... except for two characters - a mage and a rogue. It is once again an epic adventure full of magic, mythical monsters and beasts. We have four classes of characters at our disposal , differing from each other both in stats and abilities. Fighter and Dwarf are basically very similar because their gameplay is basically predetermined and based on inflicting as much damage as possible. Elf and Cleric are weaker in melee but can use magic. Elf mainly offensive and Cleric defensive. The fighting system is very propsty as it mostly consists of basic blows like a running blow, a jumping blow and a basic combination. On top of that we include consumables like daggers, bow, firebombs, spells that our characters already psiad at the start depending on the character class plus what we find along the way. Fighter and dwarf are the best at close range so their gameplay is not too complicated, while cleric and elf are better to handle from afar and use weapons / spells first. ranged, and only later get into action at close range. Due to the fact that these characters have access to greater abilities , it involves juggling, between items and abilities in which you can often get lost, dying in the process because you did not pay proper attention to the enemies close to you. Graphics, animation and music are basically a similar shelf as in Shadow over Mystara. Only that there the locations were a little better made, but here too there is nothing to complain about. I've never been too fond of music typical of fantasy worlds, but here it is definitely adequate to what is happening on the screen. If you're looking for an epic adventure with a simple plot, you've come to the right place, as it's hard to find a better game in the fantasy world beat'em up genre. We highly recommend it.
