Master Chu And The Drunkard Hu (Nes) Playthrough / No wonder Hu became a drunkard after that.
Master Chu And The Drunkard Hu (1989) by Joy Van is a platform game , as fascinating as drawing a straight line. It is literally so much fun to complete it. This is a tragedy of the game design process, or just sloppiness or just going for the easy way. For a game created in 89, it feels poor and lacks any values that would attract players to it. . There is no introduction, only 3 pieces of music ( of which 2 tracks last only a few seconds used as intro and outro), poor and detail-less graphics with basic animation, gameplay so simple that it's laughable, and a general lack of imagination on the part of the developers in creating this questionable work. I will frankly admit that after what I saw the plot did not interest me at all, so I decided to leave it that way. Gameplay consists mainly of jumping and looking for 8 Yin & Yang symbols, where along the way we defend ourselves from various opponents , or avoid the ledges. after collecting 8 signs we are teleported to the level with a boss. And here practically the principle is always the same with minor exceptions. The behavior of the boss is practically always the same - he jumps, shoots and his design changes every 2 or 3 times throughout the game. They are usually accompanied by pots or traps in various forms. But it doesn't matter at all anyway, because ...... the game is so rich in extra lives that our main adversaries are not a threat here at all. We simply tank everything that comes at us shooting at the same time at the bosses killing them each time in the same way. The last 3 of the 10 levels differ, minimally because it is a kind of boss rush, with the same rules. Kill one boss and a weak point appears, then another boss to kill, again shoot at the point and the game is over. Bravo You just passed one of the most boring games on the system . From just like that....... even the outro sucks dick. I forgot to add that the whole game is practically accompanied by one song, which already after the first level starts to annoy you and you start praying that in the next level the creators with their generosity bestowed on us a new song. Which, unfortunately, is not the case. The game is a waste of time and the best summary of it will be a full scale boredom full of misery and poverty. I do not recommend it.
