As we continue through Episode 3 and into 4, Dread Templar continues to present us with interesting environments, and a cool new boss fight.

Unfortunately, it also continues to irritate me with its design choices where it deviates (or fails to learn) from the formulas it claims to be inspired by. It also exhibits some egregious bugs that pretty much gaslight the player, such as forgetting secrets you've discovered when you reload a file, and forgetting your katana mode both across file reloads and level transitions.

This game was in early access for quite a while and has been fully released for months; the fact that bugs this blatantly obvious exist is pretty inexcusable. At this point I'm mostly in this for the soundtrack and to see the environments; there are far more competent and satisfying retro-inspired modern FPSes out there, and any enjoyment I'm getting out of this is in spite of its flaws, rather than attributable to things it actually excels at.
