DrLupo LEAVES Twitch for YouTube
DrLupo has left Twitch and signed an exclusive deal to stream on YouTube for what the streamer called “Life changing money”.
DrLupo shot to the top of Twitch during the Fortnite explosions, playing with Ninja, TimTheTatman, Courage and more. But now DrLupo is taking his talents to YouTube, in what may be the first big platform move we have seen from a streamer in the last year, barring those streamers returning to Twitch who had left for Mixer.
DrLupo mentioned several reasons for the move, besides the life changing money, including the rise of hate raids on Twitch, the chance to spend more time with his family, and a bigger focus on pre-recorded and produced content. He also thinks it’s a chance to grow, with DrLupo using Valkyrae as an example of a streamer who move to YouTube and saw their popularity explode.
So will the DrLupo YouTube move be a success? It’s hard to say, given that when friend and fellow Fortnite streamer Ninja moved to Mixer from Twitch it cost him nearly 75% of his audience and followers, but others like Valkyrae and DrDisrespect have grown or posted similar viewership from their Twitch days. Hopefully DrLupo can continue his streams and his charity work on YouTube at the same level he had on Twitch, but only time will tell.
