Duplicate Weapons and Shields in Tears of the Kingdom - A Wild Glitch Appears! #tearsofthekingdom
709In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for Nintendo Switch, there's a simple duplication glitch you can exploit to copy any weapon, bow, or shield you've just discovered.
Now unfortunately, this glitch only works on weapons, bows, or shields that you are discovering for the first time, meaning the item must appear as a ??? on the overworld in order for this trick to work. That said, it's still pretty powerful and easy to pull off.
In this example, I found a Soldier's Bow for the first time, and it showed up in the grass as "???". Before picking it up, I unequipped the bow that I currently had equipped. If you're picking up a new shield or melee weapon, you will unequip your current shield or melee weapon.
But anyway, since this was a new discovery, when I picked up the bow, a textbox appeared on screen with the name of the item and a brief description. When this description is on screen, press PLUS and open the corresponding menu. So in this case, I went to my BOWS menu.
In this menu, press Y button to sort the items by STRENGTH, then equip the item all the way at the bottom right - in this example, I equipped my WEAKEST BOW.
After that, I exited the menu, closed the textbox showing the description of the Soldier's Bow, and then opened my menu back up so that I could DROP the weapon I had equipped.
Then I exited the menu once more, and on the ground in front of me was NOT my weakest bow, but ANOTHER copy of the Soldier's Bow. When I entered my menu one last time, I saw that I had TWO Soldier's Bows in my inventory (and that weak Boko Bow was gone).
