Eientei vs 15F Glowing Azure Giant (Labyrinth of Touhou 2 Steam)
0It seems that, even when you know what to do, the Azure Giant is still a very annoying boss to fight and most of it comes down to the RNG:
-You need Tenshi in your party to remove the Giant's initial buffs, but her buff removal is inconsistent
-The Giant's debuff resistance is surprisingly good, so debuffing them, even with Reisen and Hina in the front row, is inconsistent
-The Giant is decently speedy, meaning it's hard to sneak in frail attackers if the Giant never uses something with high delay like Earthquake or Great Roar. Worse still, it has the ever annoying generic Attack, with its very low delay and its annoying habit of targeting Slots 3 and 4. The low delay is probably the most annoying thing here, because if the boss uses Attack consecutively, he'll wear out your debuffs very, very quickly.
Since I was working with an especially frail, Gambler Subclassed Kaguya, the speediness was especially annoying. As for my party's offensive strategy: without Gambler's 40% damage boost, Kaguya's damage is very disappointing (even though she's theoretically perfect for taking advantage of the boss' low MND and SPI affinity). Kaguya's piercing skill actually doesn't help much at all, probably because the Giant's MND is low to begin with.
