MandJTV created a famous evil(?) team called Team Sky. As such, I will see how far I realistically can go through Elite Redux v2.5 on Elite Difficulty only using the Pokemon that are valid for the team. I'm jokingly considering calling it my audition.

Today, I am facing the first Team Aqua Grunt, who has a team that makes sense (mostly) but also has a balanced team.

For the people who do not know, Pokemon Elite Redux is a fangame created using the Emerald Decomp project. It is infamous for having a harder difficulty as well as having an ability and 3 Innates. Abilities can be changed, but Innates remain the same.

The rules are simple:
I must be on Elite difficulty.
-I can only use Flying types, those with Levitate or Hover, and those that can learn Fly, as well as Poochyena/Mightyena (since all evil teams of Hoenn have them for some reason). However, I will not use any Pokemon (besides Poochyena and Mightyena) who do not initially have a flying type or Levitate/Hover (aka, they have to be evolved to a point where the innate is a part of their set). Not in battle anyways. However, if it is part of their innates and not unlocked yet, I will be allowed to use them.
-However, I will later add in a rule where I can exclusively use new Pokemon or variants introduced in Redux.
-I will be defeating every gym trainer (as it is recommended to do so) before the gym leader.

Now, Levitate is interesting because, in this game, it is one of the Innates, which means it is spread among many Pokemon. Hover is also interesting. It is also an Innate that is similar to Levitate. You can't be hit by Ground moves but it also makes you part Psychic type. If I find a Pokemon with an innate that uses Levitate in conjunction with another, such as Aerialist, I will also use it.

The Team Aqua Grunt encounter in Petalburg Woods (especially in Elite Mode) is a relatively tough opponent. Let me go through each Pokemon individually to tell you what to watch out for. I would not take this as a guide and recommend you check out this hack yourself.

Impidimp:
This Pokemon's entire gimmick is Screens. It has a Focus Sash, with Reflect, Light Screen, Swagger, and Foul Play. This lead is not difficult, but it is dangerous if you are unprepared. With a Bold Nature, Prankster ability, and 252 in HP and Defense, you are not likely to KO it. It's Innates are tough too. Scare and Intimidate lower Special Attack and Attack upon being sent out, and Limber makes it immune to paralysis and allows for 50% less recoil damage.

Dreepy:
The first form of a Pseudo is not usually that bad. It has Drake Missile, Poltergeist, Secret Power, U-Turn, Jolly Nature, and a Focus Sash. 252 in ATK and Speed, it is likely to outspeed you. Clear Body means no stat drops either unless it's a status effect. Its innates are also no joke. Levitate, Infiltrator, and Ectoplasm (which boosts the highest attacking stat in the fog).

Skrelp:
The team's poisoner. It has Corrosion meaning everything is getting poisoned (and Steel types now take super effective damage from Poison attacks). Its innates of Adaptability, Poison Touch, and Ambush also do not help. It has a Calm nature with Sludge Wave, Hydro Pump, Hidden Power Normal, and Toxic Spikes. An Eviolite for extra bulk as well.

Carvanha:
The quintessential Pokemon of Team Aqua. Speed Boost is its ability, with the innates of Strong Jaw, Rough Skin, and Predator (basically each death, it restores 1/4 HP). It has the Life Orb, an Adamant Nature, with the moveset of Aqua Fang, Crunch, Psychic Fang, and Protect. It is a powerful force to be reckoned with.

Mareanie:
The quintessential Pokemon of Big Stall. It has an Eviolite, as well as Toxic Debris. In terms of innates, it has Poison Point, Regenerator, and Limber. It has a strong moveset of Hydro Pump, Recover, Knock Off, and Sludge Bomb. It has a Calm Nature. Hopefully, you do not have contact moves, or else the Poison will get you.

Corphish:
The unloved child of Team Aqua (like seriously it is only seen in the anime and Pokemon adventure adaptations). Its ability is Grip Pincer (which gives it a 50% chance to trap. If it does, it ignores all defense and accuracy checks.). Its innates are Hyper Cutter, Shell Armor, and Adaptability. Holding an Eviolite and an Adamant Nature, it also has a moveset of Crabhammer, Aqua Jet, Knock Off and Swords Dance. It is quite strong.
