MandJTV created a famous evil(?) team called Team Sky. As such, I will see how far I realistically can go through Elite Redux v2.5 on Elite Difficulty only using the Pokemon that are valid for the team. I'm jokingly considering calling it my audition.

Today, I am facing Bug Catcher Lyle of Petalburg Woods who has an intense team in Pokemon Elite Redux.

For the people who do not know, Pokemon Elite Redux is a fangame created using the Emerald Decomp project. It is infamous for having a harder difficulty as well as having an ability and 3 Innates. Abilities can be changed, but Innates remain the same.

The rules are simple:
I must be on Elite difficulty.
-I can only use Flying types, those with Levitate or Hover, and those that can learn Fly, as well as Poochyena/Mightyena (since all evil teams of Hoenn have them for some reason). However, I will not use any Pokemon (besides Poochyena and Mightyena) who do not initially have a flying type or Levitate/Hover (aka, they have to be evolved to a point where the innate is a part of their set). Not in battle anyways. However, if it is part of their innates and not unlocked yet, I will be allowed to use them.
-However, I will later add in a rule where I can exclusively use new Pokemon or variants introduced in Redux.
-I will be defeating every gym trainer (as it is recommended to do so) before the gym leader.

Now, Levitate is interesting because, in this game, it is one of the Innates, which means it is spread among many Pokemon. Hover is also interesting. It is also an Innate that is similar to Levitate. You can't be hit by Ground moves but it also makes you part Psychic type. If I find a Pokemon with an innate that uses Levitate in conjunction with another, such as Aerialist, I will also use it.

Bug Catcher Lyle is a relatively tough trainer in the early game. Even if you do have a type advantage. Let me go through each Pokemon individually in order to tell you what to watch out for. I would not take this as a guide and recommend you check out this hack yourself.

Venonat:
Physical Attack bait. This thing has Toxic Debris, Compound Eyes, Nocturnal that raises Dark moves by 1.25x, and reduces Dark/Fairy damage by 25%, and Magical Dust that gives the Psychic type to the attacker if they have hit the target with a contact move. It has a Timid nature and a Focus Sash so no OHKOs. 252 in Sp. Attack and Speed, 4 in HP. Signal Beam, Sludge Bomb, Flash, and Disable. It is a good starter as any physical moves guarantee that it gets a layer of Toxic Spikes.

Surskit:
Special attacks is its specialty. Luckily it is only hugely a threat in the Rain but it is still a threat all the same. Holding some Choice Specs, Swift Swim, Torrent, Unnerve and Water Bubble (which halves fire damage, removes burns, and doubles the power of Water Moves). Timid nature also with 252 Special Attack and 252 speed. It can be a menace if it uses any move stronger than Water Gun. It has access to Ice Beam, Bug Buz,z and Hydro Pump.

Cascoon:
Might as well be God. This thing has a primal form that gives it base 726 stats. But it doesn't have it here. It has Stamina (that now maxes defense if it is crit), Poison Point (that now works offensively), Battle Armor (that now reduces damage by 20%), and Shed Skin. It is a physical tank. Access to Judgement, Bug Bite, Electroweb, and Iron Defense.

Sizzlipede:
Revenge killer incarnate. Coil Up as its ability gives it priority over a bite move (which it has Fire Fang), Flame Body (that now works offensively), Pyromancy (gives all burn chances on moves 5x as often to happen), and Predator (that heals 1/4 of its HP upon KOing an opponent). Choice Scarf, Fire Fang, Leech Life, Take Down, and Power Whip. Has an Adamant Nature and 252 in ATK and Speed.

Charjabug:
Generator charges up on entry or if Electric Terrain is active. Swarm, Shell Armor, and Volt Absorb. Sticky Web, Soil Drain (Ground type Giga Drain), Thunderbolt, and Bug Buzz, holding an Eviolite. It is a menace as a special attacker. It is a Special Attacking tank.

Kricketune:
This man has single-handedly KO'd my team before. Let me explain. Perfectionist gives all moves below 51 BP a +1 crit rate. Seems fair so far, right? BUT THEN, it also gives any move below 21 BP a +1 Priority. Again, that would be fine. Except there is an issue with that. Kricketune also has Mountaineer (making it immune to Rock and Stealth Rock damage), Soundproof, and Technician. Mountaineer and Soundproof I can ignore, but Technician on top of the other buffs of Perfectionist is quite a broken combination. Especially with Fury Swipes... and Fell Stinger... and Cut... oh god. Let's hope it isn't setting up with Swords Dance. Hope you brought a Ghost type with you. You are gonna need it.
