Ah yes, the good old days of text adventures. An era when games still knew how to really torture players. Barely any graphics, no voice acting, no quick-time events. Just you, your brain, and a flickering input line that brought you closer to Game Over with every typo. Back then, you needed imagination, patience, a good understanding of text, and ideally, a dictionary within reach. And today? Today, an entire generation lives in a world where a video longer than 30 seconds is considered "epic" and reading is limited at most to subtitles under a dancing toilet. We're talking about people who nervously switch to TikTok after five seconds of a loading screen because their dopamine levels are dangerously low.

One game I really want to see remastered, and perhaps with a bit more fluffy gameplay, is the 1993 adventure game called Eric The Unready, arguably the funniest adventure game of all time, which I hope you've at least heard of. You have, right? In any case, this game is proof that you don't need an epic role-playing game when you can simply mercilessly parody every fantasy cliché with wordplay, absurd puzzles, and a protagonist who probably couldn't even find the entrance to his own inventory.
