Indika is pretty weird
INDIKA is a third-person adventure game with puzzles and light platforming elements set in an alternate Russia of the late 19th century. You take on the role of Indika, a young nun plagued by doubts—accompanied by a mysterious voice that vaguely resembles the devil. During a journey away from the monastery, she encounters the condemned prisoner of war Ilya. Together, they embark on a psychedelic, surreal journey: You solve environmental puzzles, navigate dreamlike landscapes, and engage in intense dialogues about faith, sin, and freedom. The game invites deep reflection on religion, self-doubt, and authority.
INDIKA comes from Odd Meter, an indie studio originally from Moscow. Since the invasion of Ukraine, many team members relocated to Kazakhstan—partly for political and security reasons. The project is led by Dmitry Svetlov, who was strongly influenced by his own early religious upbringing and later atheism. These personal experiences are reflected in the game's critical portrayal of the Russian Orthodox Church.
