Evolution of Cleaver (1997-2016)
Next in the evolution series is Cleaver, a sports coupe with intimidating skewer wheels. It's styling remains similar in later games.
Cleaver is an fairly average vehicle in C1, with average power, good offense and armour somewhat on the weak side. It hates kerbs like Electric Blue in the last episode because Cleaver is so low to the ground so it's not a good option to use in city environments, it fares better in other environments though.
The CR:MD variant of Cleaver features wheel spikes (1 of only 2 vehicles to have this) which can do plenty of damage and capable of disabling opponents. A lot of players think this is an overpowered vehicle because of the wheel spikes alone. However, I disagree with them and it is not a very good vehicle overall despite having solid acceleration and a good top speed. Sure, utilizing the wheel spikes is a great tactic to use in single player, however this tactic is mostly useless in multiplayer, as players can easily repair the damage if necessary. Other drawbacks include its handling as it is very unpredictable and tends to spin out if not careful. Also Cleaver is fairly easy to wreck via power-ups or a frontal collision and it's wobble recovery is terrible.
In multiplayer, it is in the lower-end of the mid-tier. It does okay in every game mode, however there are a lot of vehicles that can do a lot better. It will have good match-ups against the likes of Stiffshifter, Hawk R and Tropi-Kill. However it will struggle against god tier opposition against Shredlight (the other vehicle with wheel spikes), and Project X.
