Qualifying for Mexico is over and in a shock to everyone it is Charles Leclerc in the Ferrari who took pole position at the autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit from Carlos Sainz in second place. Max Verstappen in the Red Bull is in third and the Mclaren of Lando Norris is starting from the back after Mclaren messed up qualifying. Home hero Sergio Perez is starting the race from 5th place and he is behind Daniel Ricciardo who put together an incredible lap and performance in the Alpha Tauri for 4th place on the grid. The Honda Power Unit is loving this circuit and Ricciardo maximised the potential of the car. Oscar Piastri had an okay qualifying but the two Mercedes drivers of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell disappointed.
