Qualifying for the Circuit of the Americas is over and it is Charles Leclerc on pole position for Sundays grand prix as Max Verstappen failed to get a lap together that would see him in the top 5 but what did we learn as it is yet another sprint weekend. But what did we learn, well I am going to be doing a data analysis as F1 gets ready for Sprint day.
Carlos Sainz in the Ferrari couldn't match his teammate Leclerc but still lines up in 4th place on the grid. Mercedes have brought major floor upgrades and Lewis Hamilton has maximised that with a third place that should have been pole position but Mercedes are looking very strong for Sunday's grand prix and they could potentially win the sprint race. George Russell didn't quite have the pace of Hamilton but is lining up in 5th place. Mclaren had a mixed day, Lando Norris is in P2 on the grid but Piastri is down in P10.
Aston Martin have continued to fall down the running order as both Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll were eliminated in Q1.
