Fafnir | Dragon of the Norse Sagas
In Western folklore, Dragons are powerful and dangerous, but are also often insatiably greedy and devilishly cruel to others. Few embody this more than Fafnir of Norse mythology. Once a Dwarf with a rough persona, Fafnir's father obtains a vast fortune and a magical gold-finding ring with a curse of misfortune attached to it. So Fafnir kills his own father, steals the whole of the treasure, and transforms into a dragon in order to protect his ill gotten gold!
