A playthrough of Fallout 2, the second title of the Fallout game series that came out in 1998. This series will be broken up town when possible. Includes random commentary from me.

Leaving The Den and making his way to Vault City, the Chosen One comes across a farming town about halfway to his intended destination. Making a stop there, Narg finds out that he had entered the town of Modoc. Once a thriving food-producing community, it had fallen upon hard times due to a continued drought that had caused most of its crops to fail. However, there was a strange farm northeast of town that continued to yield many crops. It had been uninhabited as far as they could tell, so Karl, one of Modoc's farmers, decided to take it for himself.

The very same Karl was found in The Den, though, drunk and out of his mind because of the "ghosts" that haunted the farm at night and scared him off. Karl tried to convince the town to do something, but they laughed at his ludicrous story, and with nowhere to go, he ended up in The Den. Karl's mysterious disappearance eventually got the town worried but when they went to check the farm they ran off immediately at the sight of bloody corpses impaled on stakes planted in plain view for all that dared approach.

The town in desperate need of help, needed access to the food and water that the "Ghost Farm" had, so Jo, the trade post shopkeeper, told a big fat lie to the Chosen One that he'd give him the info he needed if Narg helped the town by uncovering the truth of the Ghost Farm.

New to town, Narg went off to explore and see who lives in the town. He learns that the local tanner, a man by the name of Baltheas, was looking for his missing son, Johnny. The boy had disappeared without a trace and while going down the well did result in the discovery of his BB gun, there was no sign of the boy.

Moving to the north side of town the Chosen One meets Cornelius and Farrell, two old friends who are currently engaged in an argument over a lost watch. Cornelius, a forgetful man who speaks in circles, accused his longtime friend Farrell of stealing it despite Farrell denying it and there being no proof or motive.

In such a small town, such disputes are no secret, and Farrell assumed that Narg was there to harass him. However, Narg does the nice thing and asks Farrell about his troubles then ends up helping to clear a garden that had been infested with rats.

Looking around for every possible lead, the Chosen One goes down the outhouse, the one location that no one thought to check. Filled with excrement, there was a passage blocked by rocks that Narg set up explosives to clear. It was a dangerous act and he barely makes it out before the explosives go off, and sends human waste flying everywhere.

It was an unbelievable story, but there was a mole rat living under the outhouse that had been collecting junk, and it was the thief that took Cornelius' watch. Now that the missing item was found, Narg gave it to Farrell to return to Cornelius so they could mend their relationship.

Eager to move on after having enough of Modoc, Narg finally sets off for the so-called Ghost Farm.

As expected, there were a lot of corpses impaled on the stakes, but upon closer inspection, Narg finds that the "corpses" were nothing more than dummies, but apparently no one from Modoc had the guts to examine them. Walking up to the shed in the middle of the farm, the Chosen One unexpectedly falls down a 15-feet deep hole that had been hidden under some carpets and finds himself in a guard room. Apparently the Ghost Farm was home to a large group of people called the Slags.

Narg immediately gets taken to Vegeir, their leader. Vegeir tells Narg of the Slags' history. They descended from a group of local militias who had built an underground base capable of surviving the nuclear bombs and had lived underground ever since the war. However, their population continued to grow and now they were dealing with an overpopulation problem that required them to go back up to the surface. Narg's accidental discovery of them was most opportune, as they needed someone who could travel the surface to establish contact with Modoc for them.

The Chosen One had little say over his role as playing messenger for the Slags while underground and surrounded by gunmen. Narg quickly returns to Modoc and explains everything in detail, convincing Jo and the rest of Modoc to cooperate with the Slags, and establishing a prosperous relationship.

I set the game difficult to easy and battle difficulty to wimpy just cause the goal is a playthrough, not a speed run nor to prove how good I am at this game.
