Fantasy Zone was distributed in the U.S. for the NES by Tengen, who had a lot of unlicensed releases for the system, most of which were pretty decent games that couldn't get localized by other means for one reason or another. The Japanese version of this game is better from my understanding, which wouldn't surprise me at all since that's usually the case with these games and with Rolling Thunder that we just made a video for (which was also published in the states by Tengen). Of course, that's not saying this is a bad game because of it.

While this game doesn't really compare to the Sega Master System release IMO, this game isn't bad. It's lacking the same vibrant, psychadelic colors of other Fantasy Zone games and the amount of flickering and glitching is rather generous at times, but it's still fun to play.

You've got your shops, wings, bombs and guns like other Fantasy Zone titles and the music is still nice. It might be my imagination, but I think this game is easier than the other Fantasy Zone games I've played too. Anyhoo, you're playing as Opa-Opa as usual and you go destroying things from planet to planet. Enjoy.
