5Ruka reaches the hospital room where she used to be in. There she remembers her mother....and father. But for some reason not his face. She remembers that her father too seemed to be sick like her. Ruka's mother, Sayaka Minazuki, first grew frightened when she found Ruka seemingly enthralled by the Moon. Out of desperation hoping to prevent her from Blossoming, she admitted her to the Haibara institute. But later, she grew terrified of the treatments. The use of masks, the music, and the continued deterioration of both her daughter and her husband's minds. Convinced after hearing where detective Choshiro Kirishima found the girls along with Ruka, they fled the island. Sayaka's spent the following years hoping Ruka would not remember her time on the island lest the Moon take ahold of her again. But Ruka wanted to know...and as she explored the sanitorium, she uncovers a secret passage to the place where she was found....
