In Fatal Fury, you play as one of three characters: Andy Bogard, Terry Bogard, & Joe Higashi. After winning the tournament, you have to face the end boss, Geese Howard. He killed the Bogard's father ten years ago. Geese Howard is no push over either. He fights cheap & dirty. He's constantly throwing a flame attack & then when you jump over him & think you're going to land a hit, he blocks your attack & throws you. When you lose both rounds to him, he then hits you with a jump kick, which knocks you over the edge. I still haven't beaten him.

This is one of the first few games that I remember that had a day / night cycle on stages. During the first round, its daylight. On the second round, the sun is setting. If it goes to a third round, then its night time.

I haven't had as much experience playing the arcade version of Fatal Fury. Most of my experience came playing the Sega Genesis version. The Genesis version was a mixed bag. On one hand, in the versus mode you could play as the enemy characters, but on the other it was missing two characters (Billy Kane & Hwa Jai). The SNES has more of an arcade feel to it & isn't missing any characters, but you can only play as the basic three characters. Both Genesis & SNES are missing the arm wrestling bonus games. The SNES version replaces the arm wrestling bonus game with a bouncing tire bonus game. The Genesis version has none. In addition the SNES version seems to be missing sound effects & voices that the Genesis version had.
