This map has a challenging beginning as the party has to face another group of enemy dracoknights in addition to dealing with two heroes in a room where Xane is to be recruited. I don't see Xane as being particularly necessary in this run, though my view may change later. The reason for this is that I seem to be doing well without a copy of another unit - my other units are more than competent enough. However, uses for Xane will be found for sure and when units stop growing (such as Shiida or Abel capping both strength and speed) there's absolutely no reason why Xane can't contribute to a strat; self-improvement only takes the other units so far.

The room with Xane needs to be cleared of heroes by turn 2 EP, when Xane will recruit himself by talking to Marth providing that no units are occupying the space. After this, Marth will need to move 9 tiles each turn in order to just barely reach the gate and seize. Jake's long-range attacks (that have got much stronger since he joined thanks to systematic strength rigging) help a lot, as does Shiida having capped speed as a Dracoknight (with its poor cap of 23, which is sufficient for doubling most enemies nevertheless). She can double the silver sword hero from behind the wall, finishing him off, and counter the Levin Sword one on the first EP (said hero has a surprisingly high magic stat to go with the Levinmaster forge).

Shiida also enters the range of the three dracoknights on turn 1 EP. Even with the Barrier boost from Lena, everything connecting kills her quickly. This is where Warrior Barst helps out, his combination of high HP/low defence provoking the dracos to focus on him over Shiida and letting him take two attacks without dying. The rest of the army then gang on up on said dracos with toys like iron bows to take them out on the subsequent PP. I don't let Barst take the kill, as his level isn't very likely to be good, and resetting for Jake's strength level already results in too much retrying.

On turn 2, Sedgar positions himself in range of one of the horsemen on the boss peninsula, luring all three horsemen as a result. He's not doubled by any of them and takes minimal damage thanks to all the defence procs. He can even afford to take a crit from the Killer Bow one. That's three unpromoted enemies Marth doesn't have to worry about when he journeys to seize.

I have Midia (weighed down by her weapon and doubled/2HKO'd by all the enemies) distract the enemies, as they to prioritise distant target who they can either kill with a crit or kill thanks to 2HKOing, but she only baits two cavs who the main party deals with later. Barst whiffs an enemy phase Hand Axe counter on one of them (wielding a lance, to add insult to injury) and fails to level up on the last turn as a result. That's fine; we can get a good level for Barst in the following map.

The boss is another General who is defeated by Shiida very easily. He drops a Dracoshield, which I don't yet know what I'll do with. Sedgar may appreciate having even more defence on his more mobile reclasses, but it could well be necessary on a mobile flying unit down the line. Better save it for when (if?) I actually really need it. I also acquire another Master Seal. Hardin reached lv. 15 in this map, so I guess it's time to finally promote him. His stats are nowhere as good as Abel's, who is catching up to caprammed Shiida in speed while beating her in strength and physical defence. Still, he may be in my top 5 most proficient fighters with his above average stats and A rank lances.
