A more difficult chapter than before. Our starting position (fixed as usual in the earlygame) is more than just uncomfortable, the archers threaten the fliers early on and eventually the enemies near the throne and the cav reinforcements pile up together to make progressing really hard.

Percival is the Reverse Recruitment's replacement for Lugh, and they did make him 9/0 instead of Lugh's 1/0 for some reason - probably to reflect that Percival was really tough in vanilla, especially if recruited on Hard Mode. Percival isn't the bulkiest unit around and isn't exactly impressive statwise, but he's definitely better than Allen and Lance were in the original thanks to his high level. In this chapter, he gets absolutely no action because of his late recruitment, but his decent stats and good movement will make him indispensable later on..

While I show Percival's stats towards the end of the map, I forget to show Cecilia's. She's the replacement for Chad, and since we won't have a thief unit for a very long time (finishing the next map too early to get Cath) the creator of the patch went ahead and gave her an Unlock staff and a Chest Key, all of which are highly useful.

Anyway, Cecilia's stats look like they're out of a nightmare. 17 hp/2 def/6 res bulk means she'll start getting OHKO'd soon, but the biggest warning sign is that 4 speed, which is easily doubled by so many enemy types out there. 3 mag is quite low but if she can get a Mend staff her recovery will be decent enough until better characters (Saul, Clarine, Ellen) join during the middle portion of the game.

On turn 1 enemy phase, Karel gets his first level-up, which is quite nice. He always gets at least 2 HP and 1 of every other stat with some chances to proc an additional point everywhere but resistance (100% means it'll always rise by 1 point). Here, he gets +2 to luck and speed - obviously, speed is a lot more important, though both stats contribute to slowly giving him some dodging potential before he's able to tank hits when initiating rounds of combat against the opposition.

For now, Karel remains unusable but this level-up ensures he'll be able to pick off weakened enemies that he otherwise wouldn't have the strength to KO, and enemies do get really bulky in the next chapter. I should also note that during the first six chapters, this is the only time Karel takes part in enemy phase combat - it's too early to risk doing that yet. At least the Soldier there had low enough hit rates to let him attack Karel dropped in a forest...

Karel will need to seize, so a mounted party of Yuno, Zeiss and Dayan, supported by Cecilia, go for the throne, taking Hugh along because he's the only one who can ORKO the Knight without consuming precious Armorslayer uses, and dropping him in places just generally eases up the punishment Yuno and Zeiss have to take - and they're not invincible.

At times, I create walls around moribund characters in the party to avoid their instant deaths - first against Zeiss who was sniped by an Iron Bow Archer and then Cecilia after she got hit by a Soldier.

A small party of Sophia, Igrene and Garret head to recruit Percival, feeding some of the kills to Sophia so that we go to Illia after chapter 16x and not Sacae. Sophia later joins Niime as Niime helps her kill the two Soldiers coming from the east. Sadly, I never get around to grabbing the Mend village because of this.

Sophia has been getting good level-ups here, but she is only fed all those kills for reasons that have nothing to do with her combat capabilities. Her attacks with Flux are terribly inaccurate, not as strong as Niime's and she will get doubled by crucial enemy types like Mercs and Nomads quite often.

A completely different case is Hugh who finally started levelling up here, and his levels in this map were all really impressive. A mage that insists on growing occasional defence is something to be proud of... even though there will be one boss who can OHKO him at 2-range 2 chapters from now.

Later on, Hugh will have the niche of targeting bosses' weakest defensive stat and attacking very accurately, so he's worth investing into, even though Lugh will join in Percival's place with HM bonuses much later into the game.

Initially, I wasted a lot of Silver Sword uses in this map, but re-arranging my logistics and actions on every turn, I managed to avoid using the weapon entirely. We don't get another one like it for a long while, so it's best conserved. The same applies to the Armorslayer (Oujay won't be bringing a second one like he does in vanilla).
