In this recording, the party finally comes face to face with Golbez. More importantly though, a certain lovable character joins in this battle.

It might be odd that when Rydia enter the battlefield I only take the time to revive Rosa and nobody else. The reason for that is that Yang's non-elemental attacks are very weak even after Focusing thrice and Kain's only good weapon is wind-elemental (I've never caught Golbez shifting his elemental weakness to wind, ever, maybe it doesn't happen). Sure, Yang has the elemental claws equipping which during a battle allows him to penetrate the boss's defence but focusing three times, changing equipment twice (one turn per each turn), and then attacking... How many turns does that make? Six turns for an attack. And let's not forget it can miss too.

Kain and Yang are a burden in this battle, really. Golbez mainly attacks with Bio and elemental magic and none of the fighters are really prepared to take less damage from it, besides Cecil who WAS equipped for the best possible magic defence before the Calcabrina battle. With Kain and Yang around, the party needs more healing to remain on their feet and those two don't help at all.

Before Golbez summons the shadow dragon, he can be slowed, and it's a good idea to cast Shell on Cecil as well. Before Rosa is revived, he'll have to survive some spell (who knows which one it will be) and reducing its impact can't hurt (though Cecil has massive 1,7K HP just from the mandatory battles and can survive quite a bit on his own).

Everybody but Cecil dies, Rydia, the love of my life, comes in, so we revive Rosa and have Cecil heal the whole party. He's well-levelled so his Cura spell isn't half-bad at all.

Libra should be cast on Golbez to see his elemental weakness. Rydia then summons whichever Esper penetrates that weakness, triggering the boss to reset his elemental property again.

Both Rosa and Cecil can act as healers and Libra casters in this battle, and Rosa can heal MP with Pray which makes the party very sustainable even in the case Golbez osmoses everybody's MP away.

Summoned Espers do ~3K damage so Golbez falls soon enough.

Oh, and another reason not to revive Yang and Kain is to have Cecil and the ladies gain more experience. Those three will stay in the party for the remainder of the game whereas Yang will leave the party soon and Kain's level will be reset when he rejoins.
