FFT Oracle SSCC Part 3 - Bariaus Hill & Zigolis Swamp
More Ramza Whoracle action.
Bariaus Hill is, as usual, a very tough battle. The Summoners threaten with potentially VERY powerful attacks that cover a lot of space. They're positioned in such a way that neutralising them is very difficult, and they have such an easy chance to tear off a massive amount of damage from Ramza (with his high Faith stat), plus Agrias and Mustadio who are both guests for this battle (for the last time in this challenge, simultaneously that is).
What I did was observe how Mustadio fares against the Summoner to the West. If made an Engineer/Chemist with the two Don't Move/Act skills, he's terribly unreliable. His skills frequently miss and that 30 damage he likes to deal to the Summoner means absolutely nothing when Summons are about to be spammed on the party mercilessly. So what I did was turn Mustadio into a Knight so that he would be more useful with the tactics I had in mind. He would have more HP and better evasion for tanking a lot of hits as a front-line fighter.
Here's how I decided to handle the Summoners in the end: give Agrias Battle Boots and Move +1, so that she can move as far in as possible. Cast Doubt Faith on her, granting her Innocent status (Faith = 0 therefore magic on Agrias can't connect for a while). The eastern Summoner will move closer on her turn but will be unable to cast anything, with only Agrias being in range. The western Summoner, meanwhile, will go for Mustadio (closest fighter to her), and try to destroy him.
The trick here is to time your actions in a way that allows Ramza to run in and poke the Summoner with his stick midcharge. It's a Bamboo Stick, a long and deadly one for such a fragile lady.
The Knights and the Archers are no joke either, of course. Breaks are always a possibility, and Archers' chip damage stacks very quickly.
I get very lucky with Stasis Sword stopping a couple enemies here, plus some nice luck with Sleep and Petrify. Silence Song would pretty much castrate the two Summoners, but I found it hard to squeeze it anywhere (plus the accuracy tends to be low).
The second battle shows Mustadio kicking a lot of ass with Seal Evil. This is the last he does so in this challenge.
