After having played "Velocity" from plutonia revisited community project (Prcp.wad) I wanted to give a go on this map, which is pretty similar in terms of kind of fights, difficulty... and name ;p
The wood-theme with the presence of lots of teleporters, strong monsters, open areas with enemies from everyside, gives good possibilities to choose which enemies to clear, and where instead look for some infight and return later on. This is the first map I actually played intensively from plutonia, as I didn't spend much time on final doom wads somehow.
The whole map is rather hard for the tricky rapidfire monsters disposition and the lack of armour in the first minutes of playing. Many situations can turn into deadly ones, with some unlucky monster behaviour (a PE spawning tons of souls, a baron of hell moving in the way etc..) or (even small ones) mistakes from the player. The rockets amount is fair, but using them is very dangerous most of the run. A good weapon usage and good tactics are anyway the keys to reach the exit line in one piece. I made some route changes from Anders's DSDA previous record 04:55 which allowed me to save some time. His first half of the demo was very fast, with good co-operation from monsters killing each other and good rocket damages, but in the end he wasted some time with the BFG and a few minor flaws. The cyberdemon can act friendly if cacodemons are near, inducting interesting and useful infightings, but that occurred rarely in my case. The hardest part is the end with all the chaingunners "guarding" the final switch. I originally intended to use BFG elsewhere, but I found it very difficult to survive without at least a shoot there. My first exit was a 05:01, then a 04:44, 04:34 and then this 04:21. Sub 4min and half was my personal aim.
Recorded for the beginning of the new year, on 01/01/2012 btw :)
After a few days I'll return uploading more regularly, I wanted to give some more "show" to those 2 demos actually.
