Final Fantasy 14: Leveling Tips & How to Clear New Zones Efficiently
XP Chain Power Leveling Method: http://ziggyd.tv/more-games/how-to-power-level-using-xp-chains-in-final-fantasy-14-a-realm-reborn/
In this Final Fantasy 14 A Realm Reborn video I cover how to go about clearing a new zone by chaining together quests, FATES and your hunting log entries. I also give out some leveling tips!
THE PROCESS FOR CLEARING A NEW ZONE:
- Start a zone when your quests lead you there or when you are around 5 levels below the mobs at most.
- Check for Guildhests as new ones award tons of EXP the first time you do them, make sure to check the join instance already in progress if you can as you still get credit for them while saving a ton of time.
- Start questing and grabbing all side quests you come across (should be relevant to your level).
- As soon as FATES pop up join them provided you aren't more than 5 levels under them or 2 levels over them.
- In between FATES do your sidequests.
- While doing all of the above make sure to keep an eye out for monsters in your hunting log. If you see one make sure you kill enough to fulfill that entry before moving on so that you don't have to backtrack.
- Repeat this process of questing, doing FATEs and filling out your hunting logs until you are about 2 levels above all of the FATES in the area.
- Once you reach this point of starting to outlevel the zone you need to do two things:
- finish up your quests in the zone
- make sure all hunting log entries for that zone are completed
GENERAL LEVELING TIPS:
- Make sure to grab each aetheryte and chocobo porter in each zone as you come across them. It's also a good idea to set the local aetheryte camp as your favoured destination in case you need to go to town and come back.
- In general chain monsters as much as possible during and just after your FATES. This is much easier if you are rolling with a party. In fact you can even powerlevel using the exp chaining system with a large party, link in the description for a guide to that process.
- Don't be afraid to tag other people's mobs to boost your chain or get some quick XP. It helps them as there is no kill stealing in this game and you get credit as well if you do at least 30% of the monster's life in damage. This amount scales much lower the more people attacking mobs as well so it's much easier to tag mobs that are being ganked.
- Make sure you always have plenty of food and that you always have the well-fed buff up when you are clearing a zone.
