This fight isn't too terribly difficult, but it can be pretty dangerous if you lose control of it. Motorwing's attacks hit pretty hard, but we can reduce a decent amount of its incoming damage. Motorwing has a hefty 5,000 HP, and it's weak to both Ice and Bolt. I decided to use Ice mainly for the lower MP consumption at the cost of around 30 points of damage from using Bolt. Also, this is one of several battles where Aerith's Innate Ability, Geo Stance, comes in handy. The setup is Striking Staff + Four Slots + Protect Vest; we put Elemental + Fire on the armor to reduce the damage of Twin Burner and Protect Vest to reduce the damage of Single Wing Fire.


The only real dangers of this battle are when Motorwing uses its normal attack twice in a row and Jetstream. We want to stay healed up for the double attack for sure. When the message "Motorwing's engine is revving up", it will use Jetstream a few turns later. This does over 350 damage, but can be absorbed by Geo Stance, so as long as we defend before the third turn after the message appears, we are completely safe from Jetstream. Other than that, this battle isn't too bad overall.
