Replacing the Materia Keeper is the Rocket Buster. This battle is pretty simple and straightforward. Once again, Protect Vest is there to reduce Shoot damage, and Four Slots for some evasion. I tacked on Lightning + Added Cut and Elemental + Choco/Mog for some extra damage as Rocket Buster is weak to both bolt and wind, as well as Magic Counter + Restore for safety. This, along with MBarrier means that we're very safe in this battle unless we're super careless (which we won't be) or super unlucky with Magic Counter (which hopefully doesn't happen).
At the start, Rocket Buster will put up an Anti-Magic Barrier, which basically gives it reflect status. It also comes along with two Shinra guards, which we can take care on the first turn with a cast of Beta. Next, we want to remove Rocket Buster's reflect status. I didn't equip DeBarrier here, so we bounce a Cure or two off of it instead. We do need to watch out for Rocket Superbomber and Rocket Bomber, which both can deal some decently good damage. When it runs out of ammo, Rocket Buster will use Magic Missile every turn, which is Shoot damage, so with MBarrier up and the Protect Vest, we take around 160-170-ish damage, and with Aerith's 920 HP and Restore + Magic Counter equipped, there's really no danger of dying here. We do, however, want to keep an slight eye on Aerith's HP just in case we get extremely unlucky with Magic Counter triggers. More importantly, we need to keep a closer eye on Aerith's MP, because of the fact that we're spamming Bolt every turn, putting up MBarrier when it runs out, and the fact that Magic Counter Cures do reduce MP, we'll need to feed Aerith an Ether every so often.
After this battle, we get access to the SP upgrade system, which we can use to boost Aerith's stats. I am going to go for the Flowergirl upgrade, which, with each upgrade, gives +8 strength, +14 magic power, and +12 to both spirit and dexterity. All through the use of sources, of course.
